Have you started something recently but lost track in between due to whatsoever reasons?
Did it ever happen to you where you felt like “Let me take a break from this activity!” and then that break period never ends.

This is a very common issue that most of us face and during such times we really need someone to remind ourselves of getting back or to push us a little harder. Here, I am sharing a few tips that actually helped me in getting back on track and maintaining consistency throughout.

Before starting with any activity that you plan to go with for a long time as a habit, follow the below pointers:

  1. Discuss/share your plan with someone before starting with the activity and ask the person to extend their support by daily inquiring if you are following or not.
This will keep you under the constant pressure of meeting the other person’s expectations and will also raise a sense of responsibility within you for being consistent and disciplined.
  2. Track your daily progress.
This can be achieved both digitally or manually. There are various apps available that allow one to track the timelines of important activities and set reminders.
Also, you can maintain a physical calendar and have it placed somewhere where you get to notice it often.
Now, you just need to cut off the dates where you have completed the activity.
Following this will trick your mind into a play game where it’s target would be to get the maximum number of dates to be stricken off.
  3. Set small milestones & reward yourself.
Let us say for instance, that you are on the journey of losing weight.
Tell yourself that you have to reduce 2 inches from your belly area and if you do so then you are going to get yourself that black handbag that's been in your wishlist for so long.
Setting such small milestones will not only help you in reaching your goal a little faster but also with full excitement.

Do consider adopting above said habits in your routine life and observe a good level of improvement in your doings.

Always remember, habits cannot be formed overnight nor they are magically injected in anyone. It requires constant nurturing, motivation, and zeal from within to incur good powerful habits that will go with you in the long run.
